Etsy’s 6.5% transaction fee is only one part of a seller’s cost stack. Payment processing and listing fees also apply, while Offsite Ads adds a separate fee only to attributed orders. The effective percentage therefore depends on order value, seller location, and advertising scenario. The default US inputs here were reviewed in August 2026; verify current rates before pricing.
If your number comes back red, you have three levers: raise the price, drop your variable costs, or charge the buyer more for shipping. The real answer is usually a combination of all three.

How accurate is this calculator?+
The arithmetic follows the inputs you provide, but the result is only as accurate as those assumptions. The default US Etsy fee inputs were reviewed in August 2026: a $0.20 listing fee, 6.5% transaction fee, 3% + $0.25 US payment processing, and an optional 12% or 15% Offsite Ads scenario. Verify current rates for your location before pricing.
What is the shipping shortfall?+
It's the difference between what shipping costs you and what you charge the buyer. Most new sellers underprice shipping by $2–$7 per order, silently destroying their margin. The calculator surfaces this gap explicitly.
Why does Offsite Ads matter so much?+
Offsite Ads applies only when Etsy attributes an order to one of those ads. Etsy currently lists a 15% fee below its stated threshold and 12% after a shop crosses it. Because that scenario can materially change one order, model both an attributed and non-attributed sale.
Can I save my numbers?+
