How It's Built
- Layer 1 — The Continents: Cut from light plywood or veneer. Internal country borders are scored (not cut through), so each continent lifts off the bed as one solid slab. Country labels use collision-physics layout for flawless legibility at any scale.
- Layer 2 — The Backboard: A massive rounded rectangle cut from a dark, contrasting material, carrying oceanic typography (Pacific, Atlantic, Indian) and an equatorial scale bar.
Mount the backboard to the wall first, then attach the continental pieces on top with wood glue or spacers for the raised, floating 3D shadow effect. Two cuts from two materials — no tiny pieces, no multi-week build.
